Hamptons Welcomes
“School of Rock”-style Camp

Westhampton Beach, NY - A rock revolution has taken over the
Hamptons! Okay, it’s not just rock music. Rock Star Band Camp,
opening June 25th in Westhampton Beach, is offering students ages 8
to 18 classes in the art of hip-hop production, singing, songwriting,
and yes, rock ‘n’ roll.

For those who are not familiar with the hit movie “School of Rock”
starring Jack Black, Rock Star Band Camp is where students go to
study with music teachers, play, and record songs. And participants
are actually encouraged to ditch the traditional band camp clarinet or
flute for a guitar and the drums. “There are so many great
instruments and singing styles not offered in regular school. Here
students can really find their own voice,” says Founder and Creative
Director, Amanda Halsey, who will include the works of Green Day,
U2, Aretha Franklin, The Doors, and more for the weekday “Intro to
Rock” classes.

And students who sign up will have the rare opportunity to hit the
recording studio every week to record a demo since camp will be held
at a state-of-the-art recording facility. Rock Star Band Camp saw an
immediate response to its unique offerings, with a host of calls and
emails from prospective campers curious about its weekday camp
and special weekend sessions, particularly the “Hip-Hop 101” class,
in which students will create an actual hip-hop track. Other courses
are filling up fast too, including “Intro to Songwriting,” “Vocalist
Weekend,” and “The Band,” a group of students who will compose,
perform, and record their own original tune.

Great classes and a devoted staff ensure success, and hopefully a
permanent summer music camp for East Enders. Director, Amanda
Halsey, sums up the goal of Rock Star Band Camp, “We’re offering
a service where aspiring musicians can meet other young people with
similar interests. And they have the opportunity to gain experience in
the recording studio all summer. Basically, it’s every musician’s
dream come true.”

Rock Star Band Camp runs June 25th though August 17th. The
“Intro to Rock” class is offered Monday through Friday and special
courses including “Hip-Hop 101,” “Vocalist Weekend,” “Intro to
Songwriting,” And “The band” will be held Weekends throughout the
